How it works
The Packing Weight Calculator adds up the typical weight of what you plan to pack — clothing, shoes, toiletries, electronics and extras — adjusts for climate and trip type, then adds the empty weight of a mid-size suitcase to give you a realistic total before you get to the check-in desk.
How it works. Each item type uses an average planning weight (a T-shirt at 150 g, a jumper at 550 g, a pair of shoes at 850 g and so on). Cold climates add about 35% to clothing weight; hot climates take around 20% off. Business and outdoor trips are weighted heavier than city breaks or beach holidays.
