Your QR code

Enter a URL or some text and your QR code appears here instantly, ready to download as a PNG. Nothing is uploaded — the code is generated in your browser.

How it works

A QR code is simply text drawn as a pattern a camera can read. This generator builds the code entirely inside your browser, so whatever you encode — a URL, a phone number, your Wi-Fi password — never leaves your device, and the resulting image is yours to use anywhere.

How it works

  • Your text is encoded into binary and split into data blocks.
  • Reed–Solomon error correction adds recovery data at your chosen level.
  • The blocks are laid out around the finder patterns as a grid of modules.
  • A quiet zone of four modules is added so scanners can find the edges.

A worked example

Encoding a 30-character URL at Medium correction produces a compact code of roughly 33×33 modules. Switch to High correction and the same URL needs a denser grid, but up to 30% of the printed surface can be damaged or covered by a logo and it will still scan. That is the trade: more resilience, more pattern.

How to interpret your result

Download at 512 pixels or more for anything that will be printed, keep the white border intact, and test the finished artwork on a real phone at the distance people will actually stand. If a code looks unusually dense, shorten the text — brevity scans better than any setting.

Common real-world uses

  • Menus, price lists and event programmes.
  • Business cards linking to a profile or portfolio.
  • Guest Wi-Fi access without reading out a password.
  • Product packaging, instructions and warranty registration.
  • Wedding and party invitations linking to RSVP pages.
